I have used a free Anti-virus program for a while. Recently they came up with a new 2007 version of it that I downloaded. I had both the old verson and the new version of the program on my computer for a while. The interesting thing was that the old version found a lot more spware than the new version. In fact, the new one only found low-level spyware. For a while I wondered whether there really wasn't any signifcant spyware or my computer or if the new version of the free program was worthless. When I ran an Anti-Virus program that was not free, it found more than 500 Critical/ High level bugs on my computer that the free version missed. Miraculously, it didnt take ten minutes to load a page and my computer no longer randomly sent me to random sights. I undersand not wanting the free version to be so good that there is no need for the non-free version, but why create something that is utterly worthless?
Recently, I have grown accustomed to the lizards that are everywhere instead of insects where I live. At first they surprised me a bit, but I have grown accustomed to seeing them. Apparently they are harmless, but I realized that I should probably get a more expert opinion about that. The last thing I would want to be is mistaken about whether something is harmless or not...

Extreme Eventist
I have discovered that I am a member of a profession that I never realized existed. I am officially giving it a name: Extreme Eventist. It doesn't pay any money, but it tires you at unheard of levels. Basically I witness or am a part of some Extreme Event or Incident purely by virtue of circumstances. The kind where if someone else is there you say "Holy S***!! Did you see that??!! Are you kidding me??!!" Otherwise you call people and say something similar later. At that point you try to cope until 2 hrs later when somthing else of that magnitude happens and the process starts all over again...
On a different note...I wonder about craigslist sometimes: What percentage of it is legitimate and what percenage of it is a Phishing site?
