Hmm...

You might wonder...."What's so great about halloween?" For most of my life Halloween was a one day thing where I didnt celebrate it or buy a costume half of the time. The Halloween party might or might not have been any fun. It was an entirely different experience when it lasted long enough to actually "get into it."

Rivalry Week is always an interesting time of year. Teams haven't felt so much animosity since Rivalry Week the previous year and records entering the game dont matter. If thats not the dynamic, its not a very good rivalry.

Recently, I was flipping through the channels and saw Saturday Night Live on television. I assume that it was a new episode: I watch it infrequently enough that just about every epsiode that I ever see is a new episode so far as I am concerned. It made me think: I can't imagine Saturday Night Live ever ending. Saturday Night Live seems like the Channel 7 news: As long as there is a channel 7, the news will be shown on televison from 5-6:30...

I have talked to many personal trainers and learned of many workouts that are worthwhile. It is interesting that the best workout that I have ever encountered was something that someone told me about at Starbucks. Once, i was studying at a Starbucks and a guy asked me about what i was studying. He was wearing a Personal Trainer shirt and my workout at the time was not seeing the results that I hoped for, so I had a question for him as well. I told him what I was trying to accomplish and, over the course of a minute, he told me about the best workout strategy that I have ever seen or heard of. I saw results so fast that the people who worked at Starbucks got scared and started offering me free pastries to slow the process. It was a reminder that being Social pays off...

More Random Thoughts...

Everyone has has the experience of having someone call them the wrong name. When this happens there are two directions that you can go with that: 1) You can assume that they forgot your name or 2) You can assume that they have mistaken you for someone else. If I recognize the person I usually assume that they forgot my name, but that's not necessarily true. I wonder how many times I have picked the wrong of those two possibilities...

I was thinking of the Halloween a couple of years ago where it was halloween 24/7 for an entire month. A entire month of halloween parties. It seems like college town areas are most conducive to that sort of thing. I have not spent much time in the Research Triangle area (and do not plan to) but it seems like Halloween could be a fun time there with so many colleges in the area...

Recently I was thinking of those National Lampoon's "Jake The Pimp" games that were online for a while. I am not sure how popular those games were. It seemed like the sort of thing that would get shut down if it ever gained more than a cult following. I remember that there was a particular episode/cartoon game that was about bar hopping in Hollywood. It was about the Cahuenga/Selma area specifically. I thought it was cool because it depicted the exact bars that were on that block at the time. At the time I would think "I am going to play this online game about that area then I am going to drive over and hang out there in real life!!!!!" Of course I made it a point to stay far away from any place that had a rainbow over the door. I was in more or less walking distance from the area so it was pretty convenient. In hindsight that was a Commercial mindset but it was(and at some level still is) "Me"...
