Another Blog Entry

I encounter a lot more people who are being sarcastic now than I used to. The thing about it is that there is no apparent reason to think that the person is being sarcastic. What they are saying isn't far-fetched enough or obviously contradictory of reality enough to be assumed to be sarcasm. I guess you have to be on the same wave length as the sarcastic person to know whether they are being sarcastic or not in those situation. Someone said something about wanting to do something because there being "So many criminals." I tend to assume that he was being sarcastic but I wouldn't be shocked if he wasn't...

There are many reasons in this world why a person would need to shield his/her identity to a certain extent. Some of these reasons are valid. Its a zero sum game, though. The fact that any given person is sheilding his identity puts any person who is not shielding their identity at some sort of disadvantage. Can you really trust people to not take advantage of that sort of thing? Who polices that sort of thing to make sure that it isn't abused?

I was watching the Lakers gmae yesterday. I guess that Phoenix is "in it" right now. Steve Nash is looking more like a Prize fighter than basketball player lately...

I was watching that show "Deadliest Warrior" on television the other day. I think that it was on Spike TV but I am not certain. I watched a show about who would win a fight between a Shaloin Monk and Maori Warrior. I watched a show about who would win between the United States Green Beret and a soveiet Equivalent, and I watched a chow about who would win between Jesse Jame's gang and Al Capone's gang. If I didn't misunderstand,+ they put a bunch of information into a computer and the computer decided what would happen in the fight. That show is Outrageous!

Credit

Recently, someone was talking about bad credit. I am not talking about a credit score: I am talking about those things that happened in your past that people throw in your face whenever you say something to the contrary. My response to any of those pointed at me are that 1) I haven't had much of a chance to respond since so much of my contact information was altered and 2) Most people who say that sort of thing about me should be doing it from behind bars. 3) There is no truth whatsoever to a lot of it. I will leave it at that for the moment. We tend to perceive things a certain way because it supports our argument regardless of all the facts. I have had to do some things to survive recently (I still wonder why) that seemed like an unimaginable nightmare before it happened. For instance: Your good sense should tell you that I am not "into" a Homeless shelter...

I was thinking about an interesting comment that I heard a long time ago. It didn't strike me as being interesting commentary until long afterward. We were talking about one of those medieval sir lancelot/ king arthur type movies that was in the theater at the time. It wasn't about king arthur specifically but I am certain that you know what I am talking about. There was an Elite group of knights involved, etc. Someone said "Those boys were bad! Back in those days you won the fight or you either ended up dead or hanging in a dungeouns by your wrists shackled to a wall!" I never thought of it that way before....

Has anyone ever played that video game Saint's Row? Sometimes I feel like I am stuck inside of that videogame. An interesting part of that game is that if things aren't going well sometimes one of your "homies" will "leave" you and start shooting at/ attack you. Sometimes they "leave" for no apparent reason. My expereince is that some people seriously "leave" in real life and EXPECT you to continue to interact with them. What's that all about?

I was thinking about an experience that I had a while ago. This is a timeless experience that probably could have happened at any point in the history of mankind. I was hanging out with one of my room mates and a couple of his friends. We went to a local/ somewhat trendy bar and stood there. Half the girls in the bar came over and started hitting on one of the guys that we were with. He was some sort of model so I guess that that sort of things happens. Attractive girls were hitting on him and he wasn't interested (Attractive by Los angeles standards). He said, "You become a little spoiled if you're me" and that what was happening was nothing to him. I think that he accepted the most attractive girl at that bar's phone number. That was it. Girls who were "Merely" pretty attractive sort of made his eye twitch when they hit on him. I had never seen anything like that in my life and still have not seen anything like that again to this day.

I was watching that movie beetle juice the other day. I hadn't seen that movie for a while so it was cool to watch that movie. Someone always says Beetlejuice 3 times while watching that movie.

My test of whether something is personal or not is whether people do the right thing in regards to that particular conflict. If someone commits a crime against someonse and people are held accountable as a person is normally held accountable then its personal. If people get away with all manner of monstrous things and are never held accountable then its not really personal. You can consider people "biased" and yourself a "non-member" at some level at that point. Considering what people have been able to get away with in regards to me: Things can't be personal.

I had a weird dream recently. In real life, People have been mistaking me for someone else a lot. People are walking up to me and finishing previous conversations that they were having with someone else. Sometimes these interactions are very hostile and I have to check them because I have never met them before. People always say "Wow..you have a twin around here..." This is probably why I have had this dream. In my dream, there is an Encino man guy (for those who have seen the movie Encino man) who is impersonating/ being mistaken for me but it is impossible for me to ever locate him. Someone would show me video footage of my look-a-like looking at a remote control car as if it was awe-inspiring because he had never see anything remotely that technologically advanced. I would say "Wait a minute! Thats someone else!" This led to a lot fo confusion. I wonder what that dream means.

One of the guys who mistook me for someone else (in real life) walked up to me randomnly and asked me something about chucking spears. Clearly completely out of his mind. He struck me as one of those people who bother me about where I am "from" after I had explained things to him. I don't associate with people like that so I can't fathom how that conversation is occuring/why he is concerned about that (You need to make sure that you are dealing with the right person before you say anything that crazy...I clearly am not the right person). He seemed like one of those guys who is hell-bent on doing something disastrous when there is no reason whatsoever. If a girl begged him for sex he would probably curse her out and hit her. At that point she would change her mind and call the cops. Next, he would hook up with her specifically so that he could be forcing the issue at that point.

I was standing on Harbor looking toward Fullerton the other day. That is a Huge mountain...

I think that this sums up my problems recently over the past few years. People are very good at getting decision makers to take their word for and rubber stamp important decisions pertaining to my life. If I bought a mansion, someone could complain to the authorities and say that it is not Andre's mansion and that it is actually thier mansion. There would be no invesitgation: They would just take that person's word for it. "Andre is living in your mansion??!! He is out of there!" I guess that the decison maker doesn't much at stake in the issue so why follow anything close to procedure?? Let's take his word for it because he is soem random guy...

When people ask me where I am from, I say Los Angeles: This is true. I have lived other places before but I am from Los Angeles at this point. A lot of things aggravate me but i substantively dislike people who continue to bother me about whether I am from MI after I explain that I am from Los Angles...

I watched the "Get Smart" movie that was in theaters recently. I was not born when the original series was on television but I used to watch the reruns on Nick at Night when I was a kid. After the movie I was left to wonder: Is get smart more about futuristic devices or is it more about the devices that were used in the original series? A shoe phone doesn't seem nearly as futuristic now as it did 40 years ago but would it seem like get smart without a shoe phone? Would it be a a better update of the original series if they used something that was Futuristic by today's standard as opposed to the shoe phone? Its one of those questions like "Are you more like a person who is very unique if you are also very unique or are you more like that person if your behavior is actually similar to theirs?"

Have you ever asked someone to translate something that someone said then they wouldn't translate it? They just said something like, "They said something crazy..."

I was watching a phoenix game recently: Grant Hill attacked the rim full-speed and nearly Dunked on someone. I was thinking "Wow! A lot of players who haven't recovered from serious energy don't attack the rim that way...

I was also thinking of a different basketball related topic: Ways that a player can lengthen his career. Basketball players play into their upper thirties often anyway now but...

This isn't a complete list and its not in any order of importance but...

1. Zone defense- The fact that the NBA allows zone defenses now makes it easier to keep players in the league longer: Its not as difficult to kee a quicker/faster character in front of you playing a zne defense.

2. Superstars who play on teams with other Superstars/ All stars- This is very common now but not true of Every team. Playing alongside Pau Gasol will lengthen Kobe Bryant's careers. Actually, it will lengthen Odom and Artest's career also. Guys who are the only Exceptional players on the team have shorter careers.

3. Being willing to be a role player in later years- Not everyone is willing to be a role player if they used to be the main option.

4. Don't play through serious injuries- Some injuires are not as serious as others: Some injuries won't shorted a players career if he plays through it. No one can question the heart of someone who plays through serious injuries but most teams would have been better off in the long term to have important players play a few extra years as opposed to playing through significant injuries.
