The Captive Audience

Its interesting to think of how many times I have been a captive audience in life. Being a captive audience can take numerous forms. How many times have you over heard a loud conversation that was happening far away and everything that you heard was offensive? Like you should not have heard any of the conversation regardless of the content because you were so far away, but instead you heard all of it and it made you cringe. That situation where people are often standing right outside of your window yelling some sort of verbal battery that is supposedly not aimed at you but very offensive because you heard it is not any better. I have come to the conclusion that you cannot always check the content depending on the circumstances and what was said, but you can always check the noise level...

I feel that I am a captive audience wen I am watching television as well. It usually does not matter to me but occasionally it does. How many times have you been watching basic television and the station showed some sort of content that the station doesn't usually show? If you were watching HBO and it was some R-rated movie you could have at least braced yourself but you had no idea that it was coming because they were showing it on a station that is not known for controversy at 4:00 in the afternoon. Interesting to think about...
